The Lois Elaine Rochford Scholarship Award
This scholarship is awarded in honor of the memory of the late Lois Elaine Rochford, a woman of love, compassion, humility and exquisite style. Born and raised in Brooklyn's Brownsville neighborhood, Lois believed in giving back to the community and she had a passion for empowering and encouraging young people. This scholarship will be awarded to college bound young people who reside in the Brownsville or East New York neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 2.5 GPA or 80 average (Please provide an official transcript)

Recipients MUST currently reside in Brownsville or East New York, Brooklyn. (Must provide proof of residency.)

Must be enrolled full-time in an associate's/bachelor’s/vocational program at an accredited higher education institution in Fall 2023. (Must provide proof of enrollment, i.e. school ID or letter of acceptance)

A 200-300 word essay answering this question,
“How do you plan to use your education to give back to your community?” -
1 Letter of Recommendation from a teacher or academic advisor

This scholarship is open to any major.

The 2023 application is now open and the winner will be announced in June.
